You will not hear anyone come as close to sounding like Patsy Cline as Cassie Wiesner , and the Bobs are a full group of accomplished musicians, dedicated to sounding as authentic and true to the spirit of the original recordings as possible.

Cassie Wiesner’s powerful portrayal of Patsy Cline will take you on a trip down memory lane as you hear " Crazy" , " Walking After Midnight " , " I Fall To Pieces " and many more. Cassie was previously the lead singer in The Undecided and The Chance and she makes her home in Hoffman Minnesota.  In addition to Wiesner, the Bobs feature many talented musicians.

Guitarist Terry Kennedy, from Alexandria Minnesota, has played guitar, banjo and harp since the 60's with Patty and the Pinetones, The Barking Frogs and the Accoustic Cats.  Randy Barnes, on pedal steel, played a number of country bands , including Silverado, throughout the 70's and 80's. Since then , he has performed in many shows in the Alexandria area as well as two versions of "Always, Patsy Cline".  Fiddle sensation Sami Steidl performs with Irish music act Skilly and Duff as well as many schools, community and church groups in Alexandria MN. Steidl currently studies classical viola with Dr. Judish at St Cloud State University.  The Bobs bass guitarist and musical director is Bruce Kelly. Bruce is a music veteran , living near Elbow Lake Minnesota, who brings nearly 40 years of experience to the show. Some of Kelly’s previous bands include Little Henry, Silverado and Oh Aces and he is part of the trio Skilly and Duff.  Anne O’ Flynn, also from Elbow Lake , plays piano and accordion and brings the true honky-tonk style to the show that was heard in the original Patsy Cline recordings. Anne also plays with Skilly and Duff.  Drummer Tony Ray has been a member of numerous rock, country and blues bands since 1974 including Ruckus, The Rockets, Trax, The Undecided and Oh Aces. Tony lives in Barrett Minnesota and also promotes the show with Good Clean Fun Productions.  Steve Ahles plays lead guitar with the Bobs. Steve is another music veteran having played with among others, Little Henry, and he is the guitarist in many community and church groups in the Milbank South Dakota area.

Cassie and the Bobs have been touring Minnesota and eastern South Dakota for over 3 years and have gathered rave reviews wherever they play. People who love Patsy Cline will be delighted with this performance which really emulates the live performances of her and the Bodacious Bobcat Band. The group continues to draw hundreds of people to their performances which testifies to the quality of this show and the enduring popularity of Patsy Cline almost 50 years after her death.

“Through stories and songs, Brian Miller brought Minnesota’s early logging days to life”
~ Long Prairie Leader

"...the most fun thing at [the Milwaukee] Irish Fest this year"
~ Erik Carlson, "A Feast of Irish Folk" WHPK Chicago

"a perfect way to represent our historic sites"
~ Wendy Freshman, Minnesota History Center

Nationally renowned master of Celtic music Brian Miller delves deep into Midwestern history to find the unique music of Irish and Scottish lumberjacks who worked in his home state in the 1800s. Brian sings songs that once rang through lumber camp bunkhouses where the loggers relied on Irish and Scottish men to provide entertainment during the evening hours. Old world ballads mix with colorful local lore and creative arrangements, using voice, guitar and a variety of unusual folk instruments to bring this forgotten folk music to life.

In concert, Brian teams up with Milwaukee musician Randy Gosa. Randy adds his virtuosic mandolin, guitar and tenor banjo playing to the mix to fire up the old bunkhouse dance tunes and complete the package for a memorable program of top-notch Celtic music with a distinct Midwestern story. In between the songs, Brian draws on four years of extensive research to describe the lives of these singing lumberjacks and the fascinating stories behind their songs.

Lehto and Wright
November 12
at 7:30pm

A Celtic/American, folk/folk
rock band whose music challenges
the boundaries of the traditional
folk genre, as it is molded by their
diverse influences, and born anew.

Tickets:
$10.00

Lehto and Wright have a sound that is a unique blend of traditional and modern styles. By taking cues from the Irish, English and American folk traditions and interpreting them with contemporary guitar-based arrangements, Lehto and Wright have taken a fresh approach to the world of folk and folk rock.

Lehto and Wright perform either as an acoustic duo, or a tastefully electric trio, with the addition of Matt Jacobs on drums and percussion. As a duo, John Wright and Steve Lehto perform their material in an acoustic, "unplugged" setting. From American spirituals to Irish tune sets, their accomplished twin guitar/mandolin approach has all the intensity and power as the trio with half the volume. As a trio, Lehto and Wright push the boundaries of Celtic rock, utilizing all the tools of a rock band to achieve the effect of a six-piece band with three musicians. With either line-up, John Wright and Steve Lehto offer an exciting live performance of traditional and contemporary folk music with an eclectic twist.

Lehto and Wright are currently performing music from their first five critically-acclaimed New Folk Records releases Ye Mariners All, The Further Adventures of Darling Cory, A Game of Chess, The Thrashing Machine and Other Stories, and Between the Jigs and the Reels, in addition to material from their upcoming sixth studio album.
